Christian Eriksen isn’t the only talented footballer in his family, the Tottenham star’s younger sister has just been called up for Denmark’s senior squad ahead of their friendly against Finland in April.

Louise Eriksen is 21 years of age and will be making her Denmark senior debut should she get on the pitch against Finland, and her big brother is rightly proud. Quoted by Denmark’s BT, the Tottenham player said: “I try to follow her as much as I can, and we often talk together and try to visit each other as much as possible.

“I also go to see her play when I’m at home. Of course I hope that she will be successful and have good experiences with football. I think she enjoys football as much as me, and that is probably what is still the most important thing for both of us. That we think it is great fun to play.”

The Eriksens, from the small Danish town of Middelfart, aren’t the only brother and sister combination doing well in football right now. Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini has some way to go to match his sister’s achievements for Italy.

Melania Gabbiadini, 33 years of age, is in the Italian Football Hall of Fame, and has been Serie A Female Footballer of Year four times.
