Tottenham are ‘loco’ for Denis Suarez, according to Mundo Deportivo.
Wednesday’s edition of the Catalan newspaper claims Tottenham and Napoli are both hugely keen on the Barcelona player, and have submitted €30m offers.
It’s hard to believe.
If Tottenham had submitted such an offer for Suarez then it would have been far bigger news in the Spanish media, if only for Barcelona feathers to be fluffed and Spurs publicly snubbed.
Napoli are presented as the keener, being preapred to go up to €35m, and also offering the player himself a financial deal much better than the one he’s currently on.
There’s no mention of what Tottenham’s approach would be in this respect.
Mundo Deportivo explain that despite the offers, Suarez doesn’t want to go anywhere and the 23 year old is determined to prove himself at Barcelona this season.
Losing out in what seems to be an imaginary transfer race won’t be such a blow to Tottenham.
Denis Suarez is talented, but with a lot to prove, and the attacking midfielder isn’t exactly the type of player Mauricio Pochettino needs in his squad right now.
