Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is likely to accept the Tottenham job, if they make an approach for him this summer.
That’s according to former midfielder Ibrahim Afellay, who believes the Tottenham job would be hard to turn down for the Dutchman.
Slot has earned himself a growing reputation after impressing at Feyenoord this season, leading them to the Eredivisie title and into the Champions League.
He’s done that with an attractive, attacking brand of football with a squad that has been less expensively assembled than those at the likes of Ajax and PSV Eindhoven.
It means he finds himself as a man in demand, with Leeds trying to secure his signature earlier this year and now Tottenham in the mix for him.
Indeed, a report last week indicated that Slot had been invited for a conversation about the position, and Afellay believes if that translates into a full offer, he will accept it.
“If that club applies, you have to be a big boy to refuse,” he said on Studio Voetbal, relayed by Feyenoord Pings.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he goes then. Tottenham Hotspur is a great club, very different from Southampton or Aston Villa.
“At Feyenoord, Slot reached the maximum, he got more out than in. Do you expect him to reach the Champions League final next year?”
