Tottenham Hotspur are engaged in a battle to sign Porto winger Pepê, according to reports from Portugal.
Newspaper A Bola today features a piece claiming Spurs and Paris Saint Germain currently ‘attack’ the 26-year-old.
It’s even said that Tottenham have already moved for the signing, as they placed a bid for the Porto star, but that is ‘still far’ from what the Dragons demand for the player.
As for PSG, it’s only said they’ve shown willingness to sign Pepê, seeing him as a potential replacement for Neymar.
A Bola claim Porto president Pinto da Costa and the rest of the board are aware of Tottenham’s efforts, and use the player’s €75m release clause as a request.
The story doesn’t say how much Spurs have put on the table, or if they’ve shown any signs that they could reach the amount demanded by Porto.
We must point out that several front pages in Portugal today talk about the possibility of Porto manager Sérgio Conceição leaving for PSG this summer. In case he goes, then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he takes Pepê with him.
