It appears that Tottenham are going to target Elye Wahi to replace, at least partially, Harry Kane once the England international heads to Germany.
The interest from Spurs has been rife for some time, and even Montpellier’s president recently stated he was expecting an offer from the London side.
Well, that could be on its way, as Foot Mercato are reporting that Tottenham are ‘very keen’ and on the trail of the young forward, who scored 19 goals in Ligue 1 lsat season.
In fact, it’s stated that Spurs could ‘quickly concretely move’ for the forward, who wants to leave his side this summer if he can.
While Chelsea were an option, they haven’t taken their interest beyond a first offer of €27.5m that was deemed insufficient by the French club.
Therefore, Tottenham will need to bid higher than that if they want Wahi, and with the money coming in from the Kane sale, that shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off if they really want the youngster.
The belief is that at least €30m are required by Montpellier to get a transfer over the line for the 20-year-old.
