Tottenham Hotspur could be handed another opportunity to sign Vitor Roque in the summer window.
Last summer, the La Liga side agreed a deal with Athletico Paranaense for the striker and he arrived at the Camp Nou in January.
Wednesday’s edition of Sport states that Tottenham showed the ‘most interest’ in the 19-year-old before Barca secured his signing.
Roque has clocked in 310 minutes from 13 games and recent reports have indicated he could go out on loan in the summer window.
His agent, André Cury, has ruled out this option and also made it clear that if his client were to leave Barcelona, it will be through a permanent transfer.
The newspaper highlights the firm interest shown by Tottenham last year, and add that as of now, ‘it is unknown’ whether Spurs would be willing to buy him in the next window.
If Ange Postecoglou’s side are still keen on signing him, they would be encouraged to know that Cury has opened the door for Roque’s exit, which neither Xavi Hernández nor Barcelona had contemplated.
Sport end their report by stating: ‘The rope has become very tight. The number of clubs interested in buying or having him on loan will determine the temperature of Vitor Roque in the summer market.’
