Hakim Ziyech has had ‘contact’ with Tottenham as he aims to secure a move away from Chelsea in the summer.
That’s according to Jeunes Footeux, who say the player is determined to secure himself a move at the end of the season.
Ziyech has continued to find himself out of Graham Potter’s plans this season despite an impressive showing at the World Cup with Morocco.
He was close to a move to PSG at the end of the January transfer window but saw that move scuppered by an administrative error.
That, coupled with the lack of consideration in Potter’s plans has finally convinced him to move on and he’s assessing his options ahead of the summer.
He’s still talking to PSG but has ‘several contacts’ in the Premier League as well and Tottenham are one of them.
The belief is that he could be allowed to leave for €15-20m, or even on a loan deal with an option to buy included in it. He would likely have to take a wage cut, though, with his current €7m a year salary hard for clubs to match.
That would be less of a problem for Tottenham, who are likely to provide funds to their new manager in the summer, but their resources are not unlimited.
Whether they would be seriously interested in a deal is also debatable as well, particularly given that they’re likely to be spending money to sign Dejan Kulusevski permanently from Juventus at the end of this season.
The interest is apparently there, nonetheless, and it means Ziyech is a name to keep an eye on in the coming months.
