The future of Croatian star Marcelo Brozovic is a big talking point in Italy. The Inter midfielder was strongly linked with a move away from the club during the summer transfer window, but no offer came forward that was convincing enough.
Tottenham and Chelsea were the English clubs linked the most with the player, but there was also interest from elsewhere. Last month there were claims from Italy that Tottenham and Chelsea were ‘preferred bidders’ for the player.
However, things have now changed quickly, Brozovic is no longer a key player for Inter. The 23-year-old hasn’t started the season in the way he would have wished.
Brozovic was sent off in the Europa League match against Southampton, and his performance against Atalanta was also underwhelming, matching with most of the team.
According to a latest report on Italian website Calciomercato, Inter and Brozovic were supposed to negotiate a new contract at the start of the season, but that’s not going to happen anymore.
Inter owners and Frank de Boer have been left disappointed not only by his performances, but also his behaviour.
The Croatian international has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham regularly, and it’s reported Inter could allow him to leave for €20m in January.
