RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo is on Tottenham Hotspur’s agenda, according to today’s edition of Bild.
The winger missed most of the first half of this season due to injuries and has been a regular in 2024. He’s managed seven goals and four assists from 19 games and that form helped him return to the Spain squad for the first time since last September.
Olmo scored in La Roja’s 3-3 friendly draw against Brazil and this has certainly pleased the Bundesliga side. It’s also a ‘problem’ for them since such performances ‘arouse desire’ from other clubs, and this is when Tottenham are tagged.
His deal lasts until 2027 but Bild state ‘he can leave in the summer’ via his €60m release clause. It’s claimed this is a ‘bargain for top clubs’ in England, including Spurs, and a few other La Liga sides.
Tottenham, Manchester City and other clubs have long had the Spain international on their radar. Olmo has previously talked about his preference of returning to Barcelona, while Real Madrid are also an option for him in his country.
As of now, Leipzig haven’t received any offers for Olmo.
“We are very happy with Dani and are happy when our players perform well in the national teams. Dani feels very comfortable with us. He is one of our absolute difference players and has a long-term contract,” Leipzig sporting director Rouven Schröder told Bild.
If Ange Postecoglou’s side were to win the battle for Olmo, it would be quite a coup for them.
