Following the initial reports regarding Giovani Lo Celso’s move from Tottenham Hotspur to Villarreal, the press from the midfielder’s home country now backs up the transfer.

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo comes up saying that the player will ‘continue’ to play for the La Liga side following the loan spell he had there at the start of the year.

It’s said Tottenham and Villarreal now have a ‘verbal agreement’ for the move on a one-year loan with an option for a permanent deal.

According to Merlo, the clubs are ‘already exchanging documents’ and the transfer will be made official ‘in the next few days’.

Just a few hours ago, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio had reported the move as well.

He claimed that Lo Celso is flying to Spain today to have his medical and sign the contract for the La Liga side.

Di Marzio also claimed that the midfielder is moving on a loan with an option to buy, although none of the reports seem to know how much Villarreal would need to pay Tottenham to make the transfer permanent as of yet.
