Barcelona’s Clément Lenglet has been on loan at Tottenham Hotspur since last summer and the Premier League side don’t have an option or obligation to make his stay permanent.
Last Friday, Marca reported the La Liga side will try to get the north London club to buy the defender for €10-12m in the summer since he’s not included in Xavi Hernández’s plans next season.
Sport now mentions the centre-back in a report that explains the situation of those Barca players who are currently out on loan.
The 27-year-old’s loan spell at Tottenham has been positive so far, but this won’t be enough for the Frenchman to have prominence at the Camp Nou next season. Therefore, the Catalan club are ‘willing to sell him’ to raise funds and also to save on his salary.
Spurs could be the next destination for the former Sevilla man. It’s claimed Barcelona and Tottenham are ‘advancing in the negotiations’ for the transfer of the defender for around €14m in the next window.
Lenglet, who has made 30 appearances this season, picked up an injury in Tottenham’s defeat to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.
