With Chelsea recently linked to the signing of AS Roma striker Paulo Dybala, there’s someone at Stamford Bridge who’d love having him in the squad.
That’s Blues’ midfielder Enzo Fernandez, who’s today featured in a long interview with Argentine outlet Olé.
In a conversation which had a lot about his time at Chelsea, the player spoke about having other Argentine players in the squad, and was quizzed about the rumours about Dybala.
“Yes, I saw something. We’ll see. I hope he comes. I talked to him and told him that I’m waiting for him to share a barbecue or something. I need someone to share the mates, heh.”
Fernandez was also asked about Mauricio Pochettino, and talked about the expectation to play under the manager.
“I grew up a lot and very fast. And now having the chance to play in the Premier is a dream. I haven’t had the opportunity to speak with Pochettino yet, but obviously having an Argentine coach will be a plus that will help me continue to improve.”
Regarding Dybala, recent reports from the Italian media first said Chelsea were ‘monitoring’ the player, with Calcio Mercato then highlighting the fact that Thiago Silva invited him to make the move.
What makes the situation a lot easier for the Blues is that the striker has a €12m release clause at Roma, and since he’s said to be on top of Mauricio Pochettino’s list, that would be an easier summer signing.
Chelsea just apparently need to sort some outgoing transfers first, so that wouldn’t happen so soon.
