On July 6th, Corriere dello Sport stated Chelsea ‘especially’ are monitoring AS Roma star Paulo Dybala.
Since then, the forward was seen at Wimbledon and Blues defender Thiago Silva admitted to having asked the 29-year-old if he’s willing to move to the west London club.
Calciomercato say these are ‘clues’ that Dybala may be on the move. After relaying this, they focus on Chelsea’s interest in the former Juventus star.
Calciomercato state the World Cup winner is on top of Mauricio Pochettino wish list, which is why Chelsea have swooped in for him. They add the Premier League side are ‘ready to pay’ the clause to bring him to the Bridge.
Chelsea, as per the report, have to carry out a few exit operations, likely of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Romalu Lukaku, before making an approach for Dybala.
As it stands, José Mourinho’s side aren’t worried about a potential approach from Chelsea. That’s because Dyabala’s agent Jorge Antun is working on renewing his contract and the player has admitted he’s “happy” at Roma.
These factors could make it difficult for Chelsea to sign the South American this summer.
