FC Luzern midfielder Ardon Jashari has insisted the “timing would have to be right” for him to join Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United or Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic this month.
Jashari was recently linked with both the Scottish champions and the Premier League side, with a report from Sky Sports Germany stating that he had ‘various offers’ around Europe.
They claimed that it was a certainty that Luzern would be losing their captain this month and it was only a question of where he would end up.
The 20-year-old has a host of offers on the table, with RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt the hottest contenders but Leeds and Celtic also in the mix.
The later were said to be ‘courting the services’ of the central midfielder alongside Napoli and all three were ready to move for the player, who recently returned from Qatar after being a part of Switzerland’s squad at the World Cup.
Luzern were said to be eyeing up a deal between €6-7m for their man, who is tied down to a deal until 2026.
Whether Leeds or Celtic would pay that figure wasn’t clear but it seems their interest has been noted by the player, who was asked about it by Urner Zeitung.
“I heard about the rumours, you can’t get past that,” he said.
“But I’m happy now that I can get back on the pitch to train with the team. The focus for me is clearly on Lucerne, so that I can prepare well and injury-free.
“Some components and the timing would have to be right for me to decide on a transfer now.”
