Over the January transfer window, FC Lorient and AFC Bournemouth conducted some nice business, as Dango Ouattara was bought by the Premier League club.
He wasn’t the only player at the Ligue 1 side targeted by the Cherries, as they also wanted to sign Enzo Le Fée to bolster their midfield, and it was even said the two clubs had found a common ground, but the move never took place.
Now, Bournemouth could get a second chance at getting their man, as the Frenchman has announced to Le Télégramme that he intends on leaving in the summer.
Back in January, it was reported the player didn’t seem himself going to the English club, perhaps because they were in the midst of a relegation battle, which remains the case to this day.
However, should Bournemouth stay up, then they could have more convincing arguments to lure him to the Vitality Stadium going forward.
Speaking to the French newspaper, Le Fée said: “Yes, it’s time for me to leave. I’ve obviously got a particular link with this club and that’s why I wanted to renew at the start of the season. I waited for the contract offer until December. It never arrived. Now, I’m not waiting for anything and I won’t renew.
“I hope to leave this summer so that my transfer brings money to Lorient. Otherwise, I’ll be free to sign for any club next winter, with six months left on my contract.”
A fairly candid response, and one Bill Foley, who has shares in both clubs, will likely be paying particularly strong attention to.
