Signed by Philippe Clement for Rangers in January, Mohamed Diomandé has impressed a lot since his arrival at Ibrox.
So much so, in fact, that the 22-year-old has a big decision to make about his future that could impact the next 10 or more years of his career at international level, perhaps well beyond his stay with Rangers.
That’s covered by Sport365 in France, as they point out the Ibrox midfielder, born in Ivory Coast, has been called up by the Ghana national team for this international break, being able to play for them after spending years on their soil playing for the Right to Dream Academy in Accra.
The player then went to Nordsjælland in Denmark before heading to Rangers on loan as Philippe Clement’s needed some reinforcement in the middle of the pitch.
The 22-year-old now ‘has to make a choice’, as ‘the time as come’ for him to decide whether he wants to go forward and represent Ghana or stick to his roots and wait for a chance to play for Ivory Coast, for whom he has already featured at U23 level.
The Rangers man is now the only player to have been put in this situation, as Sport365 point out that goalkeeper David Akologo has been called up by both Bolivia and Ghana.
Ghana are set to face Nigeria and Uganda in the two upcoming friendlies, and Diomandé will need to decide whether he wants to be a part of those squads or keep playing for Ivory Coast’s U23s, whom he also has a chance to represent in this international break.
