On Tuesday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported there’s a queue for Aston Villa’s Nicolò Zaniolo.

Quotidiano Sportivo now state there’s a ‘three-way battle’ to sign the 24-year-old, who’s currently on loan at Aston Villa from Galatasaray.

The Italy international hasn’t managed to fully convince Unai Emery and found it difficult to enjoy regular minutes at Villa Park.

The report says his stay there is ‘practically almost impossible’, and the doors for a transfer ‘will open’ again in the summer.

Napoli, Juventus and Fiorentina have all registered their interest in the Aston Villa player, and the report mainly focuses on the former in a three-way battle.

Juventus director Giovanni Manna is in contention to become the Naples club’s sporting director, and Zaniolo has long been on his radar. The attacker is also an old obsession of Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis.

There’s a possibility for the Serie A trio to have new managers next season and this could also have an influence the player’s future. Despite this and other factors, the report states several clubs are willing to invest time, energy and money to sign him.

Zaniolo is ‘practically the perfect profile’ for the interested clubs, more so if he were to regain his best form. Napoli are convinced the Villans winger would suit them, irrespective of their next managerial appointment.

Napoli will provide competition to Juve and Fiorentina, and it remains to be seen who will win the battle in the end.
