Brentford will soon start their third consecutive season in the Premier League after returning to the top flight in 2021.
Thomas Frank guided the Bees to ninth in the table last season after finishing 13th during the 2021/22 season. In December, Brentford rewarded their manager with a new deal until 2027.
That didn’t stop reports linking him to other clubs.
Earlier claims had stated Tottenham Hotspur looked at the Dane before they appointed Ange Postecoglou last month. Ekstra Bladet have interviewed Frank and asked quizzed him about the reports linking him to Spurs.
When responding to that, the 49-year-old explained the conditions needed to to leave the Premier League side.
“There have been an incredible number of rumours in the media in recent months. I won’t comment on them and can only say that if one day an offer comes up that I can’t refuse, I can talk about it,” he said.
“When it comes to the present, let me emphasis that I am incredibly happy to be at Brentford. It is a fantastic club with strong ownership and a club with a solid foundation.”
Back in April, the Bees coach admitted it was “nice and flattering” to be linked to Spurs. He further fuelled these links last month by explaining that “sometimes there’s a lot in the rumours”.
Earlier this year, the Dane stated there has to be a “unique opportunity” for him to leave the Bees.
Last December, Frank talked about his “big dreams and ambitions” and not wanting to retire with the Premier League side.
These comments about a potential move away from Brentford were all made to the Danish media, where Frank also emphasised that he’s happy with the English club.
