Aston Villa are keen to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby and their efforts to secure his services have been covered in both Germany and France.
Kicker have come up with a fresh report but their information is conflicting to the claims made on Thursday.
To explain this, it’s important for us to give you a background on what was reported yesterday about Aston Villa’s pursuit of the winger.
- Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg first came up with an exclusive report stating that the Bundesliga side have received a €45m bid from the Villans for the 24-year-old. He also said Leverkusen are demanding €60m to let go of him in this window.
- This was followed up by RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, who said that Aston Villa offered €40m plus €7m in bonuses to sign the Frenchman.
- According to Kicker, Unai Emery’s side made an offer of ‘less than €30m’, which is ‘far too low for the German club to accept, considering they value Diaby at €60m.
Despite this, it’s claimed ‘things are moving’ as the negotiations between Aston Villa and Leverkusen will continue.
Al-Nassr are also in the picture and are willing to offer €50m for the player. They are banned from registering new players “due to outstanding debts” but this will be lifted once they sort that out.
Diaby, who has a deal until 2025, is keen to make a move elsewhere this summer.
