Tanguy Ndombele was left out of Tottenham Hotspur’s plans for this season and that resulted in him joining Napoli on a loan deal last summer.
The midfielder has been part of the Serie A side’s title winning season, making 30 league appearances and nine more in the Champions League. This includes only 11 starts and one more in the cup competition.
Napoli have an option to make the Tottenham owned player’s stay permanent, which they have decided not to exercise, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
It’s claimed the Frenchman’s performances haven’t been convincing enough for the Naples club to justify investing around €40m to buy him outright. Therefore, the two parties will part ways after this season.
At Spurs, ‘they already know’ the 26-year-old will return to north London in the summer. His deal with the Premier League side lasts until 2025.
Antonio Conte left Ndombele out of his plans at Spurs this season. The manager has left the English club in March and it remains to be seen if his successor will consider giving the former Lyon man an opportunity at Tottenham next season.
