A host of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Fiorentina’s Moise Kean in recent months and Manchester United have been dragged into the picture this week.
The Italian has a release clause worth €52m and it will be valid in the summer transfer window, with the ex-Everton player having found the back of the 23 times in all competitions this season.
La Nazione journalist Riccardo Galli spoke to Calciomercato.it about Kean’s future in Florence and stated that his release clause is appealing to Manchester United and Bayern Munich.
He said, while looking at the possibility of the forward staying at Fiorentina: “The clause could be an important attraction for these teams, like Napoli, United or Bayern Munich. After the surprise renewal of Palladino I believe Fiorentina could move in the direction of Kean.”
Galli further stated that La Viola can manage the situation, if they do not receive any offers for Kean during the timeframe when the release clause becomes active.
“If we manage to avoid the period in which the clause is valid, the only way is a contract renewal with the change of the current formula that ties him to Fiorentina.
“Then the danger will be avoided. If instead we get to the July window with the clause still valid and active, then there is a serious risk that teams capable of bringing in that money will take Kean.”
Kean’s previous stint in the Premier League saw him fail at Everton and perhaps he needs to prove himself for another season at Fiorentina before anyone makes a major judgement about him.
Manchester United appear to have been dragged in simply because it’s believed the Red Devils will be buying a forward in the next window. Whilst the clause is seen as cheap in Italy, after the Everton spell it would very much be looked on as a gamble and Kean would be under huge pressure to prove people wrong.
This really doesn’t look like a road Ruben Amorim will be going down.
