With Celtic set to take on Feyenoord on Tuesday night in the Champions League group stage, there is a lot of talk about Brendan Rodgers’ side in the Dutch media.

Pundits and journalists are analysing what the Scottish Premiership champions are capable of, including Wesley Sneijder, who believes the Eredivisie side can do some damage in the competition.

Speaking to Veronica Offside, relayed by Soccer News, the Champions League winner reckons Feyenoord will finish ahead of Celtic in the group, getting six points from the two upcoming clashes between the two sides.

Asked whether the Dutch club can make some progress in the group stages, he said: “Certainly. Celtic, Lazio. You have to win twice against Celtic. That’s possible, easily. Feyenoord must take a big step tomorrow (the show was on Monday evening).”

One of the issues Feyenoord face ahead of their clash against Celtic is their striker position, with both Santiago Giménez (suspension) and Ayase Ueda (injury) unavailable.

There’s a firm belief that Newcastle loanee Yankuba Minteh will be the one starting through the middle to frustrate the Bhoys’ defence for a team that has scored 17 goals in their last three league games.

Celtic may provide stronger opposition than the likes of Heerenveen, but that’s still something to worry about for Brendan Rodgers, regardless of Feyenoord not having a recognised striker available.
