Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has poured cold water on a potential move to Liverpool, insisting he intends to succeed in Bavaria.
The Dutchman has been speaking to Algemeen Dagblad about his future following a disappointing first year in Germany.
He joined Bayern from Ajax last summer and had expected to slot into their midfield and continue where he carried off with the Dutch giants after several years of starring for them.
That’s not been the case, though, with him failing to impress Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel and earn a regular place in the starting 11.
That’s led to speculation he could move on this summer, with several reports putting Liverpool in the mix as they reinvent Jurgen Klopp’s midfield in this window.
Indeed, a report earlier this move made it clear that a move was almost inevitable, with the player even commenting on the rumours and suggesting he’d be open to switching to Anfield if it was on offer.
It seems that opinion has now changed, though, and he has no interest in a departure from the Allianz Arena just yet.
“I assume I will still play here next season,” he said.
“That’s really how I feel. I’m at a top three club in the world. I find that beautiful and special. I won’t give that up just like that. My goal is still to succeed at Bayern.”
