With just seven days left on Adrien Rabiot’s contract at Juventus, the Serie A side are waiting with bated breath on the Frenchman’s decision.
The midfielder has a renewal offer from the Turin club in front of him, and he needs to decide whether he accepts it or moves to the Premier League, where Manchester United are reportedly waiting for him once again.
Should he accept the latter, then Juventus would turn their attention to Thomas Partey, currently at Arsenal, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The newspaper have a big feature on the subject this Friday, recalling that Juventus wanted the Ghana international when he was at Atlético Madrid, and could prove the ‘ideal replacement’ for his French counterpart.
Rabiot is said to be ‘assessing the situation and the opportunities’, as he would like to play in the Champions League, which Manchester United can offer him.
It’s explained that Erik ten Hag is ‘eager to make that transfer’, as he wanted the player last summer, only for the deal to fall through at the last minute.
Rabiot’s answer is ‘expected shortly’, and if he does go to Manchester United, they will turn their attention to the Arsenal midfielder.
The idea that Partey could move is ‘coming back to the fore’, as the Ghanaian is ‘willing to listen’ to the idea of a move to Italy, so much so that he has ‘already given the general OK’ for the move.
Corriere point out that Juventus have ‘offered the English club €18m’, which is considerably less than the €40m ‘from the usual Saudi Arabia’.
For now, Partey would prefer to leave Arsenal for Juventus, but spending €40m on him is simply not possible for the Serie A giants right now.
Something to keep in mind, as the Gunners will undoubtedly want to cash in as much as possible from a sale if they can.
