Bought by Roberto Mancini from Fiorentina, the Montenegrin forward struggled to get any game time at the Premier League club in two seasons in England, even though he scored eight goals in 28 league appearances.
Mostly used as a substitute, the now 26-year-old was sent on loan back to Italy, this time to Inter Milan, for 18-months.
The temporary deal included a €14.5m clause that would make the transfer permanent if Inter Milan were ranked 17th or better by December 2016, but it seems the club haven’t waited that long to pay the money.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the deal has already been finalised even though no official statement has been released yet.
Since joining the Serie A club in July 2015, has scored seven goals and assisted his teammates four times in 29 appearances.
