Elfsborg manager Jimmy Thelin appears to have decided to join Aberdeen and will be taking his assistants with him too.
That’s according to Fotboll Skanalen, relaying information from GP, who say that ‘everything indicates’ the manager will be taking charge at Aberdeen.
They report that Thelin, who was named as a target yesterday in a report that made it clear he was yet to make a decision on his future, appears to have now done so.
GP report that he now appears to have decided to make the move and his last match with Swedish side IF Elfsborg will be against IFK Gothenburg on June 1st before the summer break.
He will then leave for Aberdeen and is expected to be named and presented by them in the near future.
Indications are that he will also take some of his current staff with him, with assistants Emir Bajrami and Christer Persson expected to join him in Aberdeen. However, it is made clear that the two clubs are yet to come to an agreement on matters.
Elfsborg are already working on a potential replacements and have Peter Wettergren and Oscar Hiljemark lined up as the ones to replace Thelin.
That’s the next step, though, first a deal needs to be struck with Aberdeen for Thelin to head there alongside his current support team.
