Casemiro swapped Real Madrid for Manchester United last August and has been a key part of Erik ten Hag’s squad this season. He has already won the EFL Cup with the Red Devils and is in contention to win the FA Cup this season.

Bayern Munich could try to take the 31-year-old away from the Premier League side, a year after he joined them.

This surprise claim is from Kicker, relayed by Fussball Transfers, who state Thomas Tuchel ‘wants’ the Manchester United star at the German club.

Tuchel was appointed as Julian Nagelsmann’s successor at the Allianz Arena last month and he’s looking to bring in a new defensive midfielder next season. This is where the 31-year-old fits in as the manager is a ‘big fan’ of the midfielder and ‘particularly likes’ him.

It’s claimed the Brazil international has ‘all the qualities’ that the former Chelsea manager is currently lacking at Bayern.

Kicker don’t specify whether the Bundesliga side are preparing an offer for Casemiro. Even if they do table a bid, it’s hard to imagine Manchester United sanctioning his sale in the next window.

If Bayern cannot sign Casemiro, they could shift their focus to another midfielder.
