Sunderland summer signing Noah Sadiki has admitted he’s seen a good pay rise from his move to the North East but won’t be divulging the details any time soon.
Het Nieuwsblad have an interview with the midfielder today in which his move to Sunderland is the main focus.
The 20-year-old is one of several new faces arriving at the Stadium of Light this summer, having joined in a €17m deal from Union SG in Belgium.
It’s another big step up for the youngster, who came through the ranks at Anderlecht and their various youth levels before moving to Union SG for €900,000 in 2023.
His impressive performances there have now convinced Sunderland to pay big money for him as they reshape their squad for a return to the Premier League.
It’s a big step up for the youngster, who has already insisted he is ready to make the move and was convinced by Sunderland’s project, having also courted interest from Leeds United this summer.
It also means a bumper pay rise, something which has been reported on in Belgium, although he won’t confirm the finer details of that.
“As I said in the past: I don’t really know anything about numbers,” he said.
“I just know it’s a lot of money. By the way, some people think that I also got a lot of money, but I have to deny that (laughs).
“Of course, I have taken a very nice step forward in that respect and of course that plays a role in a career, but it still does not weigh against playing pleasure.”
