Sunderland have been linked with a move for Bologna defender Adam Masina in the Italian media.
TMW have claimed Sunderland could look to move in on the 23-year-old left back despite Bologna fans being keen for the youngster to commit himself to the club. Masina has a contract with the Italian side until June 2019, and the club are looking to extend this.
However, with Sunderland wanting to fill the void left by Patrick van Aanholt, who Crystal Palace in the last window, Bologna may have a fight to keep hold of the player.
Masina joined Bologna in 2013 and has gone on to make eighty Serie A appearances for the club. The defender has been a regular for his club this season, starting 25 of his side’s 27 league games. Masina has also been capped by the Italy U21 national side.
Sunderland’s summer business will be very much dependent on which league they’re in, and David Moyes, or his successor, will have to work accordingly.
