Ronald Koeman will want to forget the current international break in a hurry, but he won’t be able to. Everton look to have been hit especially hard with there being reports of players picking up knocks, and of course Seamus Coleman’s double fracture.

Ramiro Funes Mori turning out for Argentina against Bolivia on Tuesday night was always going to be a worry because of the altitude. Players often have to use oxygen, and can be left completely exhausted. With Everton facing Liverpool on Saturday, and the long flight back to England, it was a concern Koeman could have done without.

Even that situation managed to end up worse, with Funes Mori being stretchered off in the first half with a knee injury. Initial reports from Argentina suggest Funes Mori has twisted his knee and he’ll have further tests to discover the extent of the injury.

The sight of the Everton player being driven off the pitch, clearly in pain, isn’t encouraging.
