According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray will allow Barış Alper Yılmaz to sign for West Ham United or another major-league club in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Hammers in the past week following claims of an offer from the English club.

Sabah today reports on the latest developments regarding West Ham’s pursuit for the Turkey international after reports they’ve tables a good offer worth €25m plus €5m in potential bonuses.

Despite the offer being rejected by Galatasaray, it’s claimed Yılmaz has shown positivity towards West Ham’s approach and has subsequently been promised a move in the summer by the Super Lig champions.

The Turkish media outlet also say even though Gala have closed the door on Yılmaz leaving the club before next month’s transfer deadline; they will still evaluate offers at the end of the season.

Yılmaz is said to be currently taking English and Italian lessons ahead of any potential transfer in the summer window. Galatasaray have also given him a pay raise, without any further commitment, to make up for the wages he’s missing because he can’t move.

He’s made 28 appearances this season, scoring 11 goals, and is contracted to Cimbom until June 2027.

Yılmaz is also of interest to Nottingham Forest, and it would not be a surprise if more Premier League clubs become keen.
