As Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face AC Milan in the second leg of the Champions League round-of-16 on Wednesday, the Italian media has been giving huge coverage to it.
Following a 1-0 win at the San Siro, all the Rossoneri need for qualification to the quarter-finals is a simple draw in London.
That means Milan will be extremely focused on stopping Tottenham’s firepower, and a lot of that job has to do with how they’ll make Harry Kane as harmless as possible.
It turns out that there are people in Italy who don’t think the Spurs star will offer that much danger. That’s the opinion of former England manager Fabio Capello.
Interviewed by Sky Italia about the game, the former coach claims Kane is not at his best, especially in recent games.
“It won’t be easy for Milan, but Tottenham still don’t have the best Kane,” said Capello (via Milan News).
“Up until a few games ago he was alive, while in the last few games I felt seemed a bit out of the game… Maybe he lacks a bit of spirit, even Antonio Conte has always defended him. But Tottenham are a strong team despite Dier’s absence. They didn’t deserve to lose against Wolverhampton.”
In fact, Kane only has one goal and two assists in seven games in the Champions League this season, and that goal was scored in the 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the group stage.
The striker has 20 goals in all competitions, and will certainly do his best to show that in Europe this time.
