Strasbourg’s Habib Diallo could emerge as an option for Sheffield United and Burnley in the summer, according to Friday’s L’Equipe.
Having scored 12 goals last season, the striker has continued to star for the Ligue 1 side this season, scoring 17 goals from 31 league games. His impressive form convinced Salernitana to table a €12m bid for the 27-year-old last summer, and that was rejected by the French club.
Diallo’s fine displays could see him get a move to England, where L’Equipe believe both Sheffield United and Burnley could consider him in the next window.
He’s represented by Wasserman, who have good ties with English clubs. L’Equipe suggest Paul Heckingbottom’s side or the Clarets, who are searching for a striker in the market, would look at Diallo.
Both Sheffield United and Burnley have achieved promotion back to the Premier League. The Blades will finish the season in second spot, while Vincent Kompany have already won the Championship.
If Sheffield United or Burnley were to show keen interest in Diallo, they could get the deal done for around €15-20m.
