Noah Ohio has spent four years in England with both Manchester United and Manchester City earlier in his career.

In 2015, the Red Devils signed the forward from FC Almere, and after spending a year in their academy, he joined the Citizens. He was at Manchester City for three years and was part of their U18 side during the 2018/29 season.

Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, 20-year-old Ohio has backed his mother’s decision to take him to both Manchester United and Manchester City.

“I understand that people find my path a risk, but I am happy with my mother’s choice to go to England with me. I was too young to think about that properly. But I am very proud of my mother and what she has done for us. She started working as a nurse in Manchester and still lives there. Just like my sisters,” he said.

The Netherlands U21 international had spells at RB Leipzig, Vitesse and Austria Wien before joining his current club, Standard Liège, in 2022. When discussing his journey, AD point out how his move to Manchester United took shape.

Ohio was born in Almere and when he played for the local club at the age of 10, he caught the attention of the Red Devils.

AD explain that ‘suddenly Manchester United was on phone’ and then his mother decided to make the switch to England, along with his two sisters.

It’s said the Dutchman moved to Manchester with the hope of being a professional footballer.

The experience he had there, with both Manchester United and Manchester City, will certainly have helped in that regard.

At 20-years-of-age, these young footballer sounds very mature and focused, which will largely be thanks to his mother. Noah Ohio could be a name to look out for in the future.
