On Tuesday morning, Brazilian outlet Torcedores said Everton defender Yerry Mina could make a transfer to Atlético Mineiro.
It was claimed that the player was offered to several clubs from South and North America, with agent Giuliano Bertolucci taking care of the operation.
Since Mina hasn’t been playing for Everton, it was said he ‘does not rule out’ a move to another continent soon.
It turns out that journalist Jorge Nicola now came up to talk about this story, and he ends up completely dismissing it.
He claims to have spoken to Bertolucci’s staff, and that’s where he learned the rumour is a ‘big lie’, since the Everton player isn’t represented by him, but actually for one of his ‘market rivals’, André Cury.
And as it’s well known that Cury is having a fierce fight with Atletico Mineiro, with club and agent getting involved in a legal battle, it’s quite obvious that he wouldn’t offer them one of his players.
Nicola finishes the story claiming that due to Mina’s big salary and long contract at Everton, there’s ‘no chance’ he would play in Brazil in the near future, with any Goodison Park exit probably meaning a stay in Europe somewhere else.
