Chelsea’s negotiation with Palmeiras over midfielder Andrey have become ‘stuck’ with the player in Brazil awaiting a definitive answer on his future.
That’s according to journalist Bruno Andrade, who says there is ‘still no white smoke’ on the youngster’s potential move to the Brazilian club.
Andrey was signed by Chelsea in the January transfer window in a €12.5m deal from Vasco da Gama and was scheduled to join the Blues in England to be a part of Graham Potter’s squad.
However, they have not been able to do that as he has been denied a work permit on several occasions, leaving Chelsea scrambling to find a solution.
Indeed, earlier today we covered a report stating that the youngster was already in Brazil waiting for an agreement to be reached as all parties were confident that it would be.
It seems that situation may have changed, though, with Andrade reporting that ‘there is still no white smoke’ in the talks between the two clubs.
He has heard from ‘those involved in the negotiation’ that the situation is “stuck” and Palmeiras’ talks with Chelsea ‘continue’ to try and fix that.
He confirms that Santos is in Brazil awaiting the outcome, but it now sounds like he’ll be waiting a little longer than expected for there to be one.
