Nice sporting director Florent Ghisolfi has told the club he wants to leave and join AS Roma, with INEOS seemingly focused on Manchester United.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Ghisolfi has already informed Nice of his desire to leave the club this summer.
He’s been with the club since 2022 but believes that the Champions League project that he was sold when he arrive has now changed and the club’s owner’s, INEOS, now have their priorities elsewhere.
The inclination is that INEOS are putting all of their eggs into the Manchester United basket after their partial takeover of the club was confirmed earlier this year.
This is something that has been mentioned in France for the last few months, the idea that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team will now spend their time focused on Manchester United and that could leave the likes of Nice on the outside looking in.
Ghisolfi certainly seems to believe that will the case and the project that lured him to the club has now been changed, so he wants out.
He will now make arrangements with INEOS to facilitate his departure from the French club and perhaps to Roma.
