Over the past few weeks Manchester United have been linked with a move for Real Madrid’s Isco. The 24 year old Spanish international isn’t getting many minutes under Zinedine Zidane and may need to change clubs if the situation continues.

The claims seemed to start with the English media in mid September, and then the Spanish press enthusiastically ran with them, hyping everything up further and suggesting a January approach could be possible.

The claims then made their way to the Italian media, and CalcioMercato turned it into a potential battle between Manchester United, Juventus and Inter Milan.

Isco to Manchester United had become ‘a thing’.

Taking things a step further, AS claim Jose Mourinho has his eye on Isco as a potential Wayne Rooney replacement, because he hasn’t been impressed with the England captain playing a deeper role.

This one would appear like it’s going to run and run, probably for no good reason at all. Not yet anyway.
