History

Formed in 1885 by St Mary’s Church members, Southampton FC (“The Saints”) rose to become a stable professional club, famously winning the 1976 FA Cup. After a long stay at The Dell, they moved to St Mary’s Stadium in 2001. Following administration in 2009, they achieved a top-flight return in 2012, later reaching the 2017 EFL Cup final.
