On Tuesday, we covered a claim from Italy that Southampton are ready to offer €30m for Juventus’ Matias Soulé, who is currently on loan at Frosinone.
The winger has managed six goals and one assist from 14 league matches this season and Frosinone sporting director Guido Angelozzi has revealed that “many” English clubs are following him.
Calciomercato relay his quotes and then focus on Southampton’s interest in the 20-year-old.
Juve would have to raise funds to improve their finances and are considering cashing in on some of their young talents, including Soulé, next month.
Even though several English clubs follow him, the report states Southampton are ‘above all’ in the transfer race and have taken ‘decisive steps’ to secure the player’s services.
The Saints could find it very difficult to convince all parties for a deal in January, likely because they are in the Championship. The report suggests it may be a different scenario if a Premier League side were to table an offer.
The Old Lady, for their part, valued the Argentina U21 international at around €20-25m in the last window. Calciomercato claim the operation is ‘ready to start’ for a fee over €30m in January.
Soulé is starting to look at England ‘with interest’ while Juve are waiting to see how this case would develop in the coming weeks.
If Southampton can manage to convince everyone, they would have a chance of getting a deal over the line in the winter market.
