Southampton have become the latest club to join the race to sign Juventus’ Matías Soulé in the winter market, according to a report.
The forward has been on loan at Frosinone this season and has starred for them, scoring six goals and registering one assist from 15 games. This has seen him draw the attention of other clubs and the Saints are now added to this list.
That’s according to La Stampa, relayed by Tutto Juve, who state Southampton are ‘ready’ to table a €30m bid to secure the Argentine’s services in January.
Earlier today, Gazzetta dello Sport stated Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are above all in the chase for the South American. It was also explained that the Turin club could sacrifice him in the next window for €25m.
With La Stampa now stating that Southampton are ready to offer €30m, the Old Lady would favour selling the player to them next month, to improve their finances.
The report makes no mention if Soulé is willing to join the Championship side, especially considering he has interest from the Premier League, but there is also a chance he could be convinced by the success story that has been Carlos Alcaraz at St Mary’s.
One to keep an eye on.
