There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Southampton forward Paul Onuachu is expected to leave St Mary’s in the summer.
The Saints relegation back to the Championship was confirmed at the weekend following their loss to Tottenham Hotspur.
Gune Bakis have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Onuachu and they say his former club Trabzonspor will be looking to sign him during the next transfer window.
It’s claimed the Nigeria international will evaluate offers from interested clubs at the end of the season and Trabzonspor are expected to table a bid for the 30-year-old.
Onuachu spent last season on loan with the Trabzon club, scoring an impressive 17 goals in 25 appearances.
In recent weeks the Southampton player has also been linked with a move to fellow Super Lig side Besiktas as they look to solve their centre forward issues ahead of next season.
Since returning to Southampton last summer he’s made 25 appearances, scoring four goals. The Nigerian is contracted to the Premier League side until June 2026, but with relegation they are expected to cash in on him.
