After this morning’s revelations that Watford had made a €15m bid for Lille’s Sofiane Boufal, France Football are back with another article, saying Southampton have joined them.
The French football magazine reveal on their website Southampton have made the same bid at Watford, and considering the latter’s bid was rejected, the Saints’ offer certainly won’t change Lille’s mind.
The French club want around €20m for their star player, but with them needing money before the end of the window, if the fee ended up being a couple of million lower, it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise.
The forward is currently recovering from a knee injury suffered towards the end of last season, which has, until now, put a transfer on hold.
