Southampton are in the picture to sign FC St. Pauli’s Elias Saad in the summer window, according to a report from Germany.
The winger made 34 appearances this season, scoring nine goals and registering three assists in the process. The second division German club have secured promotion to the Bundesliga.
His displays have made him ‘very popular’ among several clubs, including Southampton, according to Fussball Transfers journalist Dominik Schneider.
Schneider took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say Southampton and Getafe are ‘very interested’ in the 24-year-old. That’s all he has to say about the Saints, who are set to face a battle to sign the attacker.
From Germany, Union Berlin have asked about the Germany-born Tunisia international while a few unnamed Bundesliga sides have also made contact. The journalist makes no mention of the fee needed to sign him in the next window.
Saad joined St. Pauli from lower division German side Eintracht Norderstedt in January 2023. He has an opportunity to play in the Bundesliga for the first time in his career, if he were to continue at his current club.
