It seems we’ve just had a major turnaround in the battle for Southampton defender Lyanco.

According to Fanatik journalist Gokmen Ozcan, the player will be joining Turkish side Besiktas soon.

It’s claimed that the club already ‘signed’ Lyanco from Southampton and the transfer will be ‘finalised’ after the ‘official signatures’.

So that’s the end of a small summer saga, as several clubs had been interested in the 26-year-old lately.

The interesting thing here is that the rumours from the past few days made it sound like Lyanco would head somewhere else.

It was already known that Besiktas had talks for the transfer going on. Still, recently, the very same Fanatik had shown up that Turkish rivals Fenerbahce ‘took action’ and were about to close the signing.

The news was revealed as a ‘bomb’, since the announcement was expected soon.

Now it seems that Besiktas didn’t like seeing their signing hijacked and made a new move for the signing.

Journalist Firat Gunayer writes on Twitter there’s indeed an agreement with Southampton, even though the transfer method is still being discussed.

It’s claimed that after the transfer is made official, Lyanco should be in Istanbul on Wednesday.
