Earlier on Friday, reports from Turkey revealed there was a problem with Lyanco’s transfer from Southampton to Besiktas.
It was claimed that while the player was having the first round of medicals with his new club, a cartilage problem was found, and the Istanbul side were now evaluating the situation.
We now get to see interesting updates coming from the local press. One of them is from TRT Spor journalist Firat Gunayer, who had already broken the news.
He claims that once Besiktas got to know about Lyanco’s doubtful situation, they wanted to include a clause in his contract to terminate the deal in case of an injury.
The Southampton player reportedly ‘refused that’, but the negotiations are ‘ongoing’.
Meanwhile, Fanatik journalist Gokmen Ozcan claims to have spoken to people at Besiktas, and was told the club still have control over the situation.
It’s claimed that in case the risk of injury ‘is high’, then the agreement with Southampton will be ‘cancelled’. If that’s not the case, Lyanco will sign.
These are undoubtedly tense hours for all parties involved, and it shouldn’t take long for an outcome.
