According to a claim in the Turkish media, Galatasaray are closing in on Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters.
The 27-year-old will be out of contract in the summer and subsequently has been linked with a move to the Super Lig leaders in the past week.
Galatasaray reporter Yakup Çınar has claimed Galatasaray are expected to complete the transfer for the Southampton player very soon.
Haber Sarikirmizi have covered comments the journalist has said on Cimbom’s pursuit for Walker-Peters and he says an offer is on the table and both clubs continue to hold transfer talks.
“The hottest name on Galatasaray’s transfer agenda is right-back Kyle Walker-Peters. Galatasaray made an offer of €3m. Southampton are already in negotiations. There is a possibility that this transfer will be completed in one week,” said the Turkish journalist.
Since the departure of Serge Aurier in the summer, the right back spot has become a problem for the Istanbul side. Subsequently, Gala have been monitoring a number of right-side defenders in this transfer window, and it seems Walker-Peters could be their solution.
Everton have also been linked with the former Tottenham Hotspur defender, during this transfer window, with reports they’ve also made contact for the player.
However, it seems at this stage that Galatasaray are leading the way to sign him before the window closes next month.
