Richard Ríos could be living his final days as a Palmeiras player, with growing signs that a transfer may soon materialise.
The Colombian midfielder posted a cryptic message on Instagram following the match against Mirassol on Tuesday night.
Ríos shared three photos from the game, and the last one featured the song called “Gratitude” by rapper L7NNON – the same track he used when saying goodbye to Guarani before joining Palmeiras. The gesture has fuelled speculation that his time at the club is coming to an end.
A standout performer for Palmeiras this season, Ríos caught further attention with his displays at the Club World Cup. That exposure has led to increased interest from abroad, with several enquiries made and formal bids arriving in recent days.
Both Nottingham Forest and Manchester United have shown interest in the midfielder, the former more than the latter, but it remains to be seen whether that will evolve into concrete negotiations.
The main contenders at this stage are Roma, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Benfica, with Nottingham Forest on the periphery. However, the 24-year-old reportedly prefers a move to Italy, as he is keen to join a club playing in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Palmeiras, for their part, are holding firm on their valuation, demanding at least €30m (£25.3m) to sanction a departure.
