Another day, another Gerard Deulofeu angle from the Catalan media. This time Mundo Deportivo claim they’ve spoken to a source close to AC Milan who has assured them the club want to sign Deulofeu again in the summer.
Whether the deal is a loan or a permanent transfer remains to be seen, but Milan are convinced Deulofeu should be staying with them.
From the player’s perspective, it’s stated he doesn’t want to return to Everton, where he struggled under Ronald Koeman, or sign for any other club in the Premier League.
Mundo Deportivo say there’s no doubt from Barcelona’s perspective, they will use the €12m to sign Deulofeu back from Everton, but are unsure what to then do with the player.
Everton’s clauses to prevent an immediate Barcelona sale, and to ensure a percentage of a future profit, are not mentioned by Mundo Deportivo.

Since arriving at AC Milan during the January transfer window, Gerard Deulofeu has played 11 matches and scored one goal, adding 3 assists along the way.
Milan continue to be under financial pressure as their takeover drags on, and that caused complications in the winter talks with Everton. Given the clauses the Goodison Park club have, Barcelona buying Deulofeu and then him still ending up playing at Milan next season looks a difficult prospect.
