There’s a claim in the Dutch media that Blackburn Rovers could still be interested in signing PSV goalkeeper Joël Drommel.
The Championship side are losing out to Marseille in the race to sign Go Ahead Eagles keeper Jeffrey de Lange and may now switch their attention back to Drommel.
We recently covered reports from the Netherlands that the east Lancashire side were in talks to sign De Lange and were hoping to get a deal over the line.
Marseille have clinched the player’s preference though, and that transfer is in the process of happening.
Subsequently, ED.nl report Blackburn could be back in the market for a new goalkeeper, and it’s claimed there’s a ‘small chance of a transfer’ happening with Drommel.
The Dutch newspaper say the big question now is what the English will now with regards to Drommel. PSV are reportedly not under pressure to sell the 27-year-old this summer, but it’s certainly not ruled out.
Drommel played just three senior games for PSV last season and is contracted to the Dutch giants until June 2026.
